SECRETS TO KEEPING BACKYARD CHICKENS TIPS AND TRICKS

Keeping your garden clean tips and tricks

Keeping your garden clean is very important. I recommend having a chicken water feeder or even a shallow bucket because it is really important for them to have water and stay hydrated especially in the summer. Chickens tend to clean themselves and have recently with the warm weather been digging up the garden to have dustbathes. They don't dig up the grass because that is something they eat. They can't just eat grass though. As they do tend to dig up where you have plants, we have got them some wooden crates with no holes, you can fill them up with sand and hay and even the soil you put in your garden, this will make them stop digging up your garden even though it might make a little mess.

SECRETS TO KEEPING BACKYARD CHICKENS

Chicken starter pack. You can keep your chickens in your backyard and there are a few things to keep in mind. You will need a flat surface to keep the coop to prevent different predators trying to dig up their house. Keeping your chickens happy could mean free range chickens and letting them roaming around your backyard. If they are laying they would need special layer food either pellets or mash, if you are not feeding them pellets or mash you would need grit to balance there diet. For example if they only feed on corn they would need some grit. For laying hens, you could provide them with nesting boxes, however if there is a small space at the top of their coop where they sleep they tend to just lay it there, they can lay to as late as 3 in the afternoon.
